Dosage & Administration
- taken with water preferably after meals

- dosage for other indications like analgesia and acute musculoskeletal disorders

Interaction
- diminish the antihypertensive effect of ACE inhibitors
- delay the absorption of Bpxen by antacids & Sucralfate
- increase adverse effects when used with Aspirin
- reduce the natriuretic effect of Diuretics
- enhance the toxicity of Methotrexate
- increase the risk of GI bleeding when used with Warfarin and Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI)
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to Naproxen
- asthma or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
- perioperative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

Pregnancy & Lactation
- adverse effects on fetus
- delay in parturition in animals
- premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in infants born to mothers taking Naproxen
- excreted in small amounts in the breast milk
- considered by some authorities to be too small to be harmful to a breast-fed infant
Precautions & Warnings
- renal effects
- acute interstitial nephritis
- hematuria
- proteinuria
- nephrotic syndrome
- elimination primarily by the kidneys
- use with caution in patients with impaired renal function
- monitoring of serum creatinine and/or creatinine clearance
- use with caution in patients with significantly impaired renal function
- accumulation of naproxen metabolites in patients with creatinine clearance of less than 20ml/min
- few reports of moderate to severe jaundice attributed to Bpxen
