Interaction

- SSRI increases risk of GI bleeding
Contraindications
- known hypersensitivity to Naproxen
- asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after aspirin or other NSAIDs
- perioperative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
Side Effects
- gastrointestinal: heartburn, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia
- central nervous system: headache, vertigo, drowsiness
- dermatological: pruritus, purpura
- cardiovascular: edema, palpitation
- others: visual disturbances, hearing disturbances
Pregnancy & Lactation
- adverse effect on fetus
- delay in parturition
- premature closure of ductus arteriosus
- severe pulmonary hypertension in infants
- excretion in breast milk
- possible risks to the fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- renal effects: renal papillary necrosis, abnormal renal pathology, acute interstitial nephritis, hematuria, proteinuria, nephrotic syndrome
- hepatic effects: moderate to severe jaundice
