Interaction

Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Naproxen
- Asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Treatment of perioperative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal: heartburn, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia
- Central Nervous System: headache, vertigo, drowsiness
- Dermatological: itching, purpura
- Cardiovascular: edema, palpitation
- Others: visual disturbances, hearing disturbances
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Adverse effects on the fetus
- Delay in parturition in animals
- Premature closure of ductus arteriosus and severe pulmonary hypertension in infants
- Excretion in breast milk for nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Renal effects: risk of abnormal renal pathology
- Reports of acute interstitial nephritis, hematuria, proteinuria
- Hepatic effects: reports of moderate to severe jaundice attributed to Naproben
