Indications

Pharmacology

  • Immediate release Esomeprazole Magnesium layer
  • Enteric-coated Naproxen core
  • Prostaglandin synthesis inhibition
  • Proton pump inhibition
  • Gastric acid secretion suppression

Dosage

  • Lowest effective dose
  • Twice daily dosage
  • Different dosages for adult and adolescent patients

Administration

  • Take at least 30 minutes before meals

Interaction

  • Reduced antihypertensive effect of ACE inhibitors, diuretics & beta-blockers
  • Increased risk of bleeding with warfarin
  • Interference with drug absorption by Esomeprazole

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to tablet components
  • History of allergic reactions to aspirin or NSAIDs
  • Use during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

Side Effects

  • Decreased occurrence of gastric ulcers
  • Possibility of arterial thrombotic events with long-term use
  • Gastrointestinal adverse events
