Indications

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Decrease risk of developing gastric ulcers

Pharmacology

  • Immediate release Esomeprazole Magnesium layer
  • Enteric-coated Naproxen core
  • Prostaglandin synthesis inhibition
  • Proton pump inhibitor
  • Suppression of gastric acid secretion

Dosage

  • Lowest effective dose
  • Twice daily dosage for different conditions
  • Dosage for adolescent patients based on weight

Administration

  • Take 30 minutes before meals
  • Do not split, chew, crush or dissolve the tablet

Interaction

  • Reduction of antihypertensive effect of certain medications
  • Increased risk of bleeding with warfarin
  • Interference with absorption of certain drugs
  • Effect of high-fat food on absorption

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity
  • History of allergic-type reactions
  • Use during peri-operative period in CABG surgery
