Indications

  • Adjuvant treatment for chronic bronchopulmonary diseases
  • Adjuvant treatment for acute bronchopulmonary diseases
  • Treatment for bronchiectasis
  • Treatment for asthma with bronchial mucus plugging
  • Treatment for pulmonary complications of cystic fibrosis

Dosage & Administration

  • Recommended dosage for adults and children above 6 years
  • Dissolving effervescent tablets in water
  • Dissolving granules in water
  • Use of nebulizer solution
  • Administration for Diagnostic Bronchograms
  • Administration for Nebulisation tent or croupette
  • Direct instillation for tracheostomy patients

Interaction

  • Reduced efficacy of certain antibiotics
  • Increased level of antibiotic in tissues with amoxicillin
  • Increase in inhibitory effect of thrombocyte aggregation
  • Increase in vasodilation by nitroglycerine

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to Acetylcysteine
  • Contraindicated in patients suffering from phenylketonuria

  • Sulphureous odor as a characteristic of the active ingredient
  • Preferable not to mix with other drugs
