Indications
- Relief of muscle spasm

Pharmacology
- Centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant
- Decreases tonic-somatic motor activities
- Influences α and δ motor systems
- Symptomatic treatment of painful muscle spasms
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose of 5-10 mg three times daily
- Maximum daily dose of 60 mg
- Dosage adjustment in elderly and hepatic impairment
- Not recommended for use in pediatric patients below 15 years of age
Interaction
- Life-threatening interactions with MAO inhibitors
- Enhanced effects with alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
- Concomitant use of MAO inhibitors or within 14 days after their discontinuation
- Acute recovery phase of myocardial infarction
- Hyperthyroidism
Side Effects
- Drowsiness

- Dizziness
- Lower incidence in surveillance program than in clinical studies
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy category B
- Caution needed during pregnancy and when administered to nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with history of urinary retention and angle-closure glaucoma
- Avoid in patients taking anticholinergic medication
