Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with perennial allergic rhinitis

Pharmacology
- Potent H1 receptor antagonist
- Lack of significant anticholinergic and antiserotonic effects
- Inhibition of histamine-mediated early phase of allergic reaction
- Reduction of migration of inflammatory cells
- Reduction of release of mediators associated with late phase of allergic reaction
- Peak plasma concentration of 257 mcg/L within one hour of administration
- Plasma half-life of approximately 11 hours
- Renal clearance of 30 ml/minute
- Excretion half-life of approximately nine hours
- Consistent absorption from one subject to the next
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage form: oral tablets
- Dosage form: oral teaspoonfuls
- Dosage form: injectable for intravenous administration
- Adult dosage: 1 tablet or 2 teaspoonfuls daily
- Child (6 years and older) dosage: 1 tablet or 2 teaspoonfuls daily
- Child (2-6 years) dosage: 1 teaspoonful once daily or 1/2 teaspoonful twice daily
- Child (6 months to 2 years) dosage: 1/2 teaspoonful once daily
- Injectable dosage for adults and adolescents: 10 mg by intravenous injection
- Injectable dosage for children (6-11 years): 5 mg or 10 mg by intravenous injection
- Injectable dosage for children (6 months to 5 years): 2.5 mg by intravenous injection

- No clinically significant drug interactions found with Theophylline
- No clinically significant drug interactions found with Azithromycin
- No clinically significant drug interactions found with Pseudoephedrine
- No clinically significant drug interactions found with Ketoconazole
- No clinically significant drug interactions found with Erythromycin
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Cetirizine
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine
