Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal & perennial allergic rhinitis
- Treatment of uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria
- Treatment of allergen induced asthma
Pharmacology
- H1 receptor antagonist
- Lacks significant anticholinergic and antiserotonic effects
- Inhibits histamine-mediated early phase of allergic reaction
- Reduces migration of inflammatory cells
- Reduces release of mediators associated with late phase of allergic reaction
- Peak plasma concentrations of Cetirizine 10 mg
- Plasma half-life of approximately 11 hours
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage form: oral and injectable
- Recommended dosage for adults and children 6 years and older
- Recommended dosage for children 2-6 years
- Recommended dosage for children 6 months to 2 years
- Recommended injectable dosage for adults and adolescents
- Recommended injectable dosage for children 6 to 11 years
- Recommended injectable dosage for children 6 months to 5 years

Contraindications
- Patients with history of hypersensitivity to Cetirizine or hydroxyzine
