Indications

• Relief of allergic rhinitis symptoms in adults and children 12 years and older

Pharmacology

• Fexofenadine considered an 'inverse agonist' of the H1 receptor
• Binds to and stabilizes the inactive form of the H1 receptor
• Potent and selective affinity for H1 receptors
• No evidence of antidopaminergic, antiserotonergic, anticholinergic, sedative, or adrenergic blocking activity
• Unlikely to cause significant CNS effects

Dosage & Administration

• Adults and children 12 years and older
• Can be administered in various doses depending on age and renal function

Interaction

• No hepatic biotransformation and therefore will not interact with other medicinal products through hepatic mechanisms
• Interacts with erythromycin and ketoconazole, resulting in increased level in plasma
• Administration with antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide reduces bioavailability

• Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients
