- Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablet is an antihistamine used for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 12 years of age and over.

Dosage
- Adults and children 12 years and older: 180mg once daily or 60mg twice daily
Interaction
- No significant interactions with omeprazole
- 2-3 times increase in plasma level when coadministered with erythromycin or ketoconazole
- Should be taken 2 hours apart from antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride
Side effects
- Common: headache, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea
- Uncommon: fatigue
- Hypersensitivity reactions with manifestations such as angioedema, chest tightness, dyspnea, flushing and systemic anaphylaxis
- Cardiac disorders: tachycardia, palpitations
- Gastrointestinal disorders: diarrhea, rash, urticaria, pruritus
Pregnancy lactation
- Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly necessary
- Not recommended for breastfeeding mothers
Precautions warnings
- Administer with care in older people and renally or hepatically impaired patients
- Patients with cardiovascular disease should be warned about potential adverse reactions
- Unlikely to affect the ability to drive or use machines
Special population uses
- Altered pharmacokinetics in individuals with renal impairment
- No substantial effect on pharmacokinetics in moderate to severe hepatic disease
- Similar adverse events in elderly patients compared to those under 65 years of age
Overdose effects
- Reported effects: dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth
- No clinically significant adverse reactions observed with single doses up to 800mg
