Dosage & Administration

  • Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older: 60 mg twice daily
  • Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older: 120 mg once daily
  • Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older: 180 mg once daily
  • Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older with impaired renal function: 60 mg once daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 6 to 11 years: 30 mg twice daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 6 to 11 years: 60 mg once daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 6 to 11 years with impaired renal function: 30 mg once daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 2 to 11 years: 30 mg or 5 ml twice daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 6 months to less than 2 years: 15 mg or 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) twice daily
  • Recommended dosage for children from 2 to 11 years with impaired renal function: 30 mg or 5 ml (1 tsp) once daily

Interaction

  • No hepatic biotransformation
  • Increases in plasma level with coadministration of erythromycin or ketoconazole
  • No interaction with omeprazole
  • Reduction in bioavailability with antacid containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide

  • Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride

Use in Special Populations

  • Pharmacokinetics altered in individuals with renal impairment
  • Dose adjustment recommended in patients with decreased renal function
  • Moderate to severe hepatic disease does not substantially affect the pharmacokinetics
