Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
- Fexofenadine as an inverse agonist of the H1 receptor
- Selective affinity for H1 receptors
- No evidence of antidopaminergic, antiserotonergic, anticholinergic, sedative, or adrenergic blocking activity
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 60mg twice daily or 120mg/180mg once daily
- Children dosage: 30mg/60mg twice daily or 30mg once daily
- Special dosage for impaired renal function
Interaction
- No hepatic biotransformation
- Potential interaction with erythromycin or ketoconazole
- No interaction with omeprazole
- Impact of antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide on bioavailability
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or its ingredients
