Description
- Odafen 180 mg Tablet is an antihistamine that relieves symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 12 years and older. It works by blocking histamine that the body makes during an allergic reaction.
Dosage
- 60 mg twice daily
- 120 mg once daily
- 180 mg once daily for adults and children 12 years and older; dosage varies based on age and renal function
Mode of Action
- Fexofenadine acts as an inverse agonist of the H1 receptor, preventing the activation and downstream effects of histamine, with potent and selective affinity for H1 receptors
Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria, including sneezing, rhinorrhea, lacrimation, itchy, red eyes, itchy nose/palate/throat, and improvement in health-related quality of life and work/activity productivity
Interaction
- Coadministration with erythromycin or ketoconazole results in increased fexofenadine levels in plasma; antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide may reduce bioavailability

- Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients
