Indications
- perennial allergic rhinitis
- seasonal allergic rhinitis
- chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride, non-sedating antihistamine, two-fold higher affinity for H1 receptors than cetirizine, rapid and long-acting action, once-a-day administration
Dosage & Administration
- Adult and children 12 years of age and older: 5 mg once daily
- Children 6 to 11 years of age: 2.5 mg (½ tablet or 1 teaspoon oral solution) once daily
- Children 6 months to 5 years of age: 1.25 mg (½ teaspoon oral solution) once daily
- Pediatric use: Dose based on extrapolation of efficacy from adults
- Geriatric use: Efficacy not determined in patients aged 65 years and older
- Hepatic impairment: No dosage adjustment required
- Renal impairment:
- Mild renal impairment: 2.5 mg once daily
- Moderate renal impairment: 2.5 mg once every other day
- Severe renal impairment: 2.5 mg twice weekly

- Hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine or hydroxyzine
- Severe renal impairment

Pregnancy Category B, excreted in breast milk, use during pregnancy only if clearly needed
