Indications
- Fast relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis
- Effective in perennial allergic rhinitis
- Alleviates symptoms of skin allergies
- Relieves symptoms of allergic rhinitis like sneezing and itching
Pharmacology
- Contains Loratadine
- Non-sedative histamine H1 receptor antagonist
- Long-acting tricyclic antihistamine
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet daily for adults and children over 12 years
- Half tablet daily for children 2-12 years (below 30 kg)
- Not recommended for use below 2 years of age
Interaction
- No hazardous interactions reported with other drugs
- No potentiating effects when administered concurrently with alcohol
- Concomitant therapy with certain drugs may elevate plasma concentrations
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to its components
Side Effects
- Comparable adverse events to placebo during clinical studies
- No significant impact on driving performance or cognitive functioning
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not advisable during pregnancy due to lack of experience
- Excreted in breast milk in very small amount, nursing mothers advised not to take
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with liver impairment or renal insufficiency
Overdose Effects
- Reports of somnolence, tachycardia, and headache in adults
- Extrapyramidal signs and palpitations reported in children
- Prompt symptomatic and supportive measures recommended in case of overdosage
