Indications

• Provides relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis
• Effective for perennial allergic rhinitis
• Relieves symptoms of skin allergies including chronic urticaria
• Alleviates symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing and itching

Pharmacology

• Contains Loratadine
• Non-sedative histamine H1 receptor antagonist
• Has antiallergic properties
• Long-acting tricyclic antihistamine
• Selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonistic activity

Dosage & Administration

• Adults dosage: One Loratadine tablet once daily
• Children over 12 years dosage: One tablet daily
• Children 2-12 years dosage: Body weight dependent
• Not recommended for children below 2 years

Interaction

• No hazardous interactions with other drugs reported
• No potentiating effects with alcohol observed
• Concomitant therapy caution with drugs affecting hepatic enzymes

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to components

Side Effects

• Comparable incidence of adverse events with placebo
• No sedation or anticholinergic effects observed in studies
• No impact on driving performance or cognitive functioning

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Not advisable during pregnancy due to lack of human experience
• Excreted in breast milk in small amount

Precautions & Warnings

• Caution in patients with liver impairment or renal insufficiency

Overdose Effects

• Reported effects of somnolence, tachycardia, and headache in adults
• Reported extrapyramidal signs and palpitations in children
