Indications
- Relief from symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis
- Relief from symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief from symptoms of skin allergies including chronic urticaria
- Alleviation of symptoms of allergic rhinitis

Pharmacology
- Non-sedative histamine Hr receptor antagonist
- Antiallergic properties
- Long-acting tricyclic antihistamine
- Selective peripheral Hi-receptor antagonistic activity
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once daily for adults and children over 12 years
- Administered in the morning or when symptoms require treatment
- Body weight-based dosage for children 2-12 years
- Not recommended for use below 2 years of age
Interaction
- No reports of potentially hazardous interactions with other drugs
- No potentiating effects when administered concurrently with alcohol
- Potential elevation of plasma concentrations with concomitant therapy with certain drugs
- Inhibition of hepatic enzymes by cimetidine, erythromycin, or ketoconazole
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to components
Side Effects
- Comparable adverse event incidence to placebo
- No sedation and anticholinergic effects observed in studies
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not advisable during pregnancy
- Excretion in breast milk in a very small amount
- Nursing mothers advised not to take the drug
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with liver impairment or renal insufficiency (eGFR <30 ml/min)
Overdose Effects
- Reported effects in adults: somnolence, tachycardia, headache
- Reported effects in children: extrapyramidal signs, palpitations
- Prompt institution of symptomatic and supportive measures in case of overdosage
- Consideration of oral activated charcoal for large overdoses
- Induction of vomiting or gastric lavage for conscious patients
