Indications
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis relief

Pharmacology
Non-sedative histamine Hr receptor antagonist with antiallergic properties. Long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral Hi-receptor antagonistic activity. Rapidly effective and long-lasting, allowing once-a-day administration.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults and children over 12 years: One tablet once daily
- Children 2-12 years: Body weight over 30 kg: one tablet once daily, below 30 kg: half tablet once daily
- Not recommended for use below 2 years of age
Interaction
- No reports of potentially hazardous interactions with other drugs
- No potentiating effects when administered concurrently with alcohol
- Concomitant therapy with drugs that inhibit or are metabolized by hepatic cytochromes P450 3A4 and 2D6 may elevate plasma concentrations of either drug
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to the components
Side Effects
Incidence of adverse events comparable to that observed with placebo
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No experience of use in human pregnancy
- Not advisable during pregnancy
- Excreted in breast milk in a very small amount
- Nursing mothers advised not to take the drug
Precautions & Warnings
Caution in patients with liver impairment or renal insufficiency
Overdose Effects
- In adults: somnolence, tachycardia, and headache reported with overdose greater than 10 mg
- In children: extrapyramidal signs and palpitations reported with overdoses of greater than 10 mg
- Promptly institute general symptomatic and supportive measures in the event of overdosage
- Treat patients presenting early after large overdoses with oral activated charcoal
