Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: One tablet once daily
- Morning administration for adults
- Child dosage for body weight over 30 kg: One tablet once daily
- Child dosage for body weight below 30 kg: Half tablet once daily
- Not recommended for children below 2 years
Interaction
- No reports of hazardous interactions with other drugs
- No potentiating effects with alcohol
- Possible elevation of plasma concentrations with hepatic cytochromes P450 3A4 and 2D6 inhibitors
- No adverse effects reported with concurrent use of specific inhibitors
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to components
Side Effects
- Comparable incidence of adverse events with placebo
- Comparable effect on driving performance and cognitive functioning to placebo
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not advisable during pregnancy
- Excreted in breast milk in small amounts
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with liver impairment
- Caution in patients with renal insufficiency
Overdose Effects
- Reported effects in adults: Somnolence, tachycardia, headache
- Reported effects in children: Extrapyramidal signs, palpitations
- Prompt symptomatic and supportive measures required in case of overdose
- Consideration of oral activated charcoal for early presentation
