Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
- Non-sedating tricyclic histamine antagonist
- Selective H1-receptor histamine antagonist
- Inhibition of histamine release from human mast cells
Dosage & Administration
- Pediatric drops for children 6-11 months of age and 1-2 years of age
- Syrup for children 6-11 months of age, 1-5 years of age, 6-11 years of age, and adults & >12 years of age
- Tablet for adults and children 12 years of age and over

- No clinically relevant drug interactions reported
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Desloratadine or any of its ingredients or to Loratadine
Side Effects
- Less common side effects: headache, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, pharyngitis, dyspepsia, myalgia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Safe use not established during pregnancy
- Passes into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Starting dose recommendation for adult patients with liver or renal impairment
- Consideration in patients with medical or familial history of seizures
