Indications
- Relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms
- Relief of perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms
- Relief of chronic idiopathic urticaria symptoms
Pharmacology
- Non-sedating
- Long acting tricyclic histamine antagonist
- Selective H1-receptor histamine antagonist activity
- Inhibition of histamine release from human mast cell
Dosage & Administration
- Pediatric drops for children 6-11 months of age: 2 ml once daily
- Pediatric drops for children 1-2 years of age: 2.5 ml once daily
- Syrup for children 6-11 months of age: 2 ml once daily
- Syrup for children 1-5 years of age: 2.5 ml once daily
- Syrup for children 6-11 years of age: 5 ml once daily
- Syrup for adults & >12 years of age: 10 ml once daily
- Tablet for adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 tablet daily
Interaction
- No clinically relevant drug interactions reported
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the medication or any of its ingredients or Loratadine
Side Effects
- Less common side effects include headache

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Use not established during pregnancy unless clearly indicated

- Starting dose recommendation for adult patients with liver or renal impairment: one 5 mg tablet every other day
- Consideration for patients with medical or familial history of seizures
