Description
- Muroderm ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of impetigo due to Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, as well as folliculitis and furunculosis.
Indications

Pharmacology
- Mupirocin is a naturally occurring antibiotic produced by fermentation using Pseudomonas fluorescens
- Active against a wide range of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes
- Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial isoleucyl transfer-RNA synthetase
Dosage and administration
- Apply a small amount to the affected area 3 times daily for up to 10 days
- Safety and effectiveness established in the age range of 2 months to 16 years

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity reactions to Mupirocin or any components of the preparation
