Indications
- Topical treatment of impetigo (skin diseases)
- Treatment of folliculitis
- Treatment of furunculosis
Pharmacology
- Naturally occurring antibiotic
- Produced by fermentation using Pseudomonas fluorescens
- Active against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes
- Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis
- No in vitro cross-resistance with other antimicrobial agents
Dosage & Administration
- Applied to affected area 3 times daily
- For up to 10 days
- Safe and effective for 2 months to 16 years age range

Precautions & Warnings
- Not for ophthalmic or intra-nasal use
- Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Not suitable for use with cannulae or at central venous cannulation site
- Discontinue usage in case of sensitization or severe local irritation
- Risk of dilution when mixed with other preparations
