Indications
- Topical treatment of impetigo due to Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes
- Treatment of folliculitis and furunculosis
Pharmacology
- Mupirocin is a naturally occurring antibiotic
- Active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, MRSA, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae
- Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial isoleucyl transfer-RNA synthetase
Dosage & Administration
- Apply 3 times daily for up to 10 days
- Safety and effectiveness established in the age range of 2 months to 16 years

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity reactions to Mupirocin or any components of the preparation

Pregnancy & Lactation
- No evidence of harm in animal reproduction studies
- Caution during pregnancy, unknown excretion in human milk

- Not for ophthalmic or intra-nasal use
- Caution for prolonged use to prevent overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
- Avoid contact with eyes, not suitable for use with cannulae
