Indications

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration

  • Cleansing of burn wounds before application
  • Application to thickness of 1/16 inches or 1.5 mm
  • Reapplication after patient activity or removal
  • Use of dressings if necessary
  • Reapplication after hydrotherapy
  • Continued treatment until healing or grafting readiness
  • No withdrawal from therapeutic regimen in case of infection possibility
  • Do not use on pregnant women, premature infants, or newborns within first 2 months of life

Interaction

  • Inactivation of enzymatic debriding agents
  • Potentiation of oral hypoglycemic agents and phenytoin
  • Increased incidence of leukopenia with cimetidine co-administration

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug or its ingredients
  • Use on pregnant women approaching or at term
  • Use on premature infants
  • Use on newborn infants during the first 2 months of life
