Indications

Description
- Broad-spectrum antifungal agent
- Effective against various species of dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds, and bacteroids
- Active against certain gram-positive bacteria especially Staphylococci and Tricomonas
- Alters the permeability of fungal cell walls
- Inhibits ergosterol synthesis
- Causes damage to the cell membrane of fungi
Pharmacology
- Damages the permeability barrier in the cell membrane of fungi
- Inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis
- Impairs the construction of a functional cell membrane
- Inhibits lanosterol 14-demethylase (CYP51)
- Inhibits sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase
- Depletes intracellular calcium
- Blocks calcium‐dependent potassium channels and voltage‐dependent calcium channels
Dosage & Administration
- Thinly applied 2-3 times daily to infected sites
- Excellent efficacy with a small amount of cream
- Treatment duration varies based on factors like extent and localization of the disease
- Recommended duration of treatment for different infections
- Prevention of relapse in fungal foot infection by continuing treatment beyond disappearance of signs
- Odorless and does not stain clothing
- Topical solution application two or three times daily
