Indications
- Treatment of tinea pedis
- Treatment of tinea cruris
- Treatment of tinea corporis
- Treatment of cutaneous candidiasis
- Treatment of tinea versicolor
Pharmacology
- Interferes with fungal oxidative enzymes
- Causes lethal accumulation of H2O2
- Reduces formation of ergosterol
Dosage & Administration
- Econazole vaginal tablet for vaginal application
- Econazole 30 gm cream for vaginal application
- Econazole 10 gm cream for topical application
- Longer courses recommended for recurrent vaginal infections
- Application frequency based on condition
Interaction
- Enhancement of anticoagulation effect with warfarin
- Possible systemic absorption increase under occlusion
- Monitoring of International Normalized Ratio (INR) and/or prothrombin time may be indicated
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients

Pregnancy & Lactation
- No prolonged gestation shown in humans
- Pregnancy Category C
- Use in first trimester only if essential
- Use in second and third trimesters only if clearly needed
- Caution with nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- Not for ophthalmic use
- Discontinue use if sensitivity or chemical irritation occurs
- For external use only
- Avoid introduction into the eyes
