Description
Vass 10 mg Tablet is a selective inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase used to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides levels.
Indication
- Reduction of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in patients with heterozygous and homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia
- Treatment of patients with elevated serum triglyceride levels in hypertriglyceridaemia
Pharmacology
- Mode of action: Selective inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase
- Absorption: Rapidly absorbed after oral administration
- Metabolism: Extensively metabolized to ortho- and parahydroxylated derivatives
- Excretion: Eliminated primarily in bile
Dosage administration
- Adults: Usually 10 mg once daily; may be increased to max. 80 mg once daily
- Children: 10-20 mg once daily for children aged 10-18 years
