Indications
- Scabies
- Pediculosis pubis and capitis
Pharmacology
- Benzyl Benzoate is toxic to sarcoptes scabiei and pediculosis
- Mechanism of action is unclear, may affect the nervous system of the parasite
Dosage & Administration
- Applied to the whole body for scabies after a hot bath
- Second application within 5 days for scabies
- Alternative application method for Scabisol
- Coated to affected region for Pediculosis
- Wash 24 hours later with soap and water for Pediculosis
- Can be diluted for children

Contraindications
- Not to be used on the face or broken/irritated skin
Side Effects
- Irritant to eyes, mucous membrane, and skin
- Hypersensitivity reactions reported
- Systemic symptoms reported following excessive use
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Inadequate evidence of safety in human pregnancy
- Should not be used during pregnancy unless essential
- Breastfeeding should be suspended during treatment
Precautions & Warnings
- Causes little skin irritation
- Transient burning sensation
- Wash off in case of severe skin reaction
- Irritating to the eyes, protect when applied to the scalp
