Description
Xelitor 10 mg Tablet is a selective inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase and is used to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B (Apo-B), and triglycerides levels in various diseases such as hypercholesterolaemia, dyslipidemia, and coronary artery disease.
Primary Hypercholesterolaemia Dosage Adult
Usually 10 mg once daily; may be increased to max. 80 mg once daily
Primary Hypercholesterolaemia Dosage Child
10-18 years: Initially 10 mg once daily, increased if necessary to usual max. 20 mg once daily
Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Dosage Adult
Initially 10 mg daily, increased to 40 mg once daily; further increased to max. 80 mg once daily
Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Dosage Child
10-18 years: Initially 10 mg once daily, increased to max. 80 mg once daily
Prevention of Cardiovascular Events Dosage Adult
Initially 10 mg once daily adjusted according to response
Dosage Additional Guideline
Starting dose of 10 or 20 mg once daily; range is 10 to 80 mg once daily
Pregnancy Contraindications
Atorvastatin is contraindicated during pregnancy; should be suspended if the woman is pregnant or trying to become pregnant
Lactation Contraindications
Atorvastatin is contraindicated during breastfeeding
Storage Conditions
Keep in a dry place away from light and heat; Keep out of the reach of children
