Description

Indications
- Treatment of scabies and crab lice infestations
- Effective for whole family if one member is infected
Mode of Action
- Contains Permethrin, a pyrethroid
- Disrupts sodium channel current in nerve cell membrane
- Causes delayed repolarization and paralysis of pests
- Pre-systemic metabolism occurs in skin
Pharmacokinetics
- Topical route of administration
- Less than 0.5% absorbed in the first 48 hours
- Rapid metabolism by ester hydrolysis
- Excreted primarily in the urine
Dosage
- Recommended duration of treatment for different age groups
- Specific dosage for adults and children based on age
Administration
- Instructions for clean, cool, and dry skin before application
- Different application areas for adults, children over 2 years, and babies under 2 years
- 8-hour treatment time and reapplication after 7 days if necessary
Interaction
