Indications
- Treatment of superficial infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
- Burns
- Regeneration of new skin in wounds and ulceration
- Otitis externa
- Postoperative infections
- Neuro-dermatitis
- Eczema
- Adjunct to systemic steroid therapy
Pharmacology
- Active topical corticosteroid (Betamethasone)
- Rapid response in inflammatory dermatoses
- Treatment of psoriasis
- Topical broad-spectrum bactericidal amino-glycoside (Neomycin Sulfate)
- Effective against various gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens
- Effective penetration and uniform distribution capacity
- Effective for the treatment of wet ulceration of the skin
Dosage & Administration
- Applied to affected parts of the skin as a thin layer
- 3-4 times daily for adults
- Gradual withdrawal in chronic conditions
- Not for use in children under 1 year of age
- Limited course of treatment for children
- Physician's directed dosage
Interaction
- No significant drug interactions reported
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any components
- Not for use in otitis externa with perforated eardrum
- Contraindicated in skin lesions caused by viruses and fungi
Side Effects
- Well tolerated in general
- Prolonged and high doses may cause Cushing's syndrome
- May cause acne
- May cause thinning and dilatation of blood vessels
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not to be extensively used during pregnancy

- Avoid long term continuous therapy
- Use accurate dose in infected areas only
