Contraindications

  • Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis
  • Hypersensitivity to the preparation
  • Not indicated for primary cutaneous viral infections
  • Not recommended for dermatoses in children under one year of age

Side Effects

  • Systemic absorption with prolonged use
  • Local atrophic changes with intensive treatment
  • Pustular form of psoriasis in rare instances
  • Pigmentation changes and hypertrichosis reported

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Limited data in pregnant women
  • Topical corticosteroids in pregnant animals caused fetal abnormalities
  • Unknown excretion in human milk

Precautions & Warnings

  • Avoid long-term continuous therapy, especially in infants and children
  • Atrophic changes risk on the face with prolonged treatment
  • Risk of glaucoma or cataract if applied to eyelids
  • Hazardous in psoriasis for various reasons
  • Use of appropriate anti-microbial therapy for infected lesions

Use in Special Populations

  • Avoid long-term continuous therapy in infants and children under 12 years

Overdose Effects

  • Acute overdosage unlikely
  • Features of hypercortisolism with chronic over-dosage
