Indications
- Treatment of eczema

Pharmacology
- Topically active corticosteroid

Contraindications
- Not for skin lesions caused by viruses
- Not for skin lesions caused by fungi
- Not for skin lesions caused by bacteria
- Hypersensitivity to the preparations
- Potential for overdosage
- Adrenal suppression in infants and children
- Caution in dermatoses in infants and children
- Use antimicrobial therapy when treating infected inflammatory lesions
- Avoid prolonged application to the face
- Hazardous in psoriasis
Side Effects
- Hypersensitivity may require immediate cessation of application
- Possible transient adrenal suppression
- Local atopic changes with prolonged use
- Reports of pigmentation changes and hypertrichosis
- Exacerbation of symptoms
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Inadequate evidence of safety in human pregnancy
- Small risk of fetal abnormalities
Precautions & Warnings
- May be absorbed systemically when applied topically to large areas
- Avoid use under occlusive dressings
- Avoid indiscriminate use for pruritus
- Caution in patients with certain medical conditions
- Prolonged use on the face
Overdose Effects
- Acute overdosage is very unlikely
- Discontinue in case of chronic overdosage or misuse
