Indications

Pharmacology
- Fluticasone propionate as glucocorticoid
- High topical anti-inflammatory potency
- Low HPA-axis suppressive activity
- Therapeutic index greater than most commonly available steroids
- High degree of selectivity for glucocorticoid receptor
- Agonist activity at human glucocorticoid receptors
- Weak affinity for progesterone receptor
- Virtually no affinity for mineralocorticoid, estrogen, or androgen receptors
- Therapeutic potency related to half-life of glucocorticoid-receptor complex
- Half-life of Fluticasone propionate glucocorticoid-receptor complex: approximately 10 hours

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in Rosacea
- Contraindicated in Acne vulgaris
- Contraindicated in Perioral dermatitis
- Contraindicated in Primary cutaneous viral infections
- Contraindicated in Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Contraindicated in Perianal and genital pruritus
- Not indicated for treatment of primarily infected skin lesions caused by fungi or bacteria
- Not indicated for dermatoses in children under one year of age

Precautions & Warnings
- Low propensity for systemic absorption
- Prolonged application to large areas may lead to adrenal suppression
- Infants and small children more susceptible to systemic toxicity
- Atrophic changes more likely on the face
- Use on severe eczema should be careful
- Appropriate antimicrobial therapy for treating inflammatory lesions
- Spread of infection requires withdrawal of corticosteroid therapy
- Encouragement of bacterial infection by occlusive dressing
- Cleansing of skin before applying fresh dressing
Overdose Effects
- Acute overdosage very unlikely
- Chronic overdosage or misuse may lead to hypercorticism
- Discontinuation of application in case of overdose
