Indications
- Topical treatment of inflamed dermatoses
- Treatment of infected eczema
- Treatment of atopic eczema
- Treatment of primary irritant or contact allergic eczema
- Treatment of seborrheic eczema
- Treatment of dermatitis
- Treatment of intertrigo
- Moist or dry eczema treatment
- Treatment of perianal and genital dermatitis
Pharmacology
- Miconazole as a substituted imidazole
- Treatment of superficial candidiasis
- Treatment of skin infections
- Activity against Aspergillus spp.
- Activity against Cryptococcus neoformans
- Antifungal activity
- Hydrocortisone as a glucocorticoid
- Anti-inflammatory properties
Dosage & Administration
- Apply as a thin film
- Apply two or four times daily
- Treatment duration of 1 to 2 weeks
- Rub well with fingers
Interaction
- Antagonizes activity of Amphotericin
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in hypersensitive individuals
- Not for use in pregnant or lactating mothers without physician's advice
Side Effects
- Local sensitivity reactions
- Decrease in natural hormone production
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Risk of fetal development abnormalities with high doses of corticosteroids
- Topical steroids should not be extensively used in pregnancy
