Indications
- Relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses
- Treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis
Pharmacology
- Mometasone is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties
- Mechanism of action on allergic rhinitis is not fully known
- Effects on cell types and mediators involved in inflammation
Dosage & Administration
- Application of a thin film of Mometasone Furoate cream to affected skin areas once daily
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below 2 years of age not established
Contraindications
- History of sensitivity reactions to Mometasone or any components of the preparation
Side Effects
- Well-tolerated generally
- Potential for burning, pruritus, and skin atrophy
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Inadequate studies in pregnant women
- Unknown passage into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Discontinue treatment if irritation develops
