Description

  • Broad spectrum antimycotic
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anti-pruritic
  • Anti-allergic effects
  • Composed of Econazole Nitrate
  • Powerful antifungal
  • Triamcinolone Acetonide for enforcing antimicrobial effect
  • Effective against various pathogens and fungi
  • Antibacterial effect on gram-positive cocci and bacilli

Dosage & Administration

  • Apply sparingly no more than 2 times daily
  • Preferably once in the morning and once in the evening
  • Not to be applied with occlusive dressing
  • Duration of treatment
  • Caution for pediatric use

Interaction

  • Metabolized by CYP3A4/2C9 oral anticoagulants
  • Lowering of plasma salicylates levels
  • Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulceration with NSAIDs
  • Antagonized blood glucose-lowering effects of antidiabetics
  • Increased risk of Hyperkalemia with certain medications
  • Increased clearance with specific medications

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
  • Contraindicated in specific skin conditions
  • Viral, bacterial or fungal skin infections
  • Rosacea and rosacea-like dermatitis

Side Effects

  • Transient local mild irritation
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Adrenal suppression on long term continuous topical steroid therapy
  • Potential effects on infants and children

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Topical administration of corticosteroids during pregnancy
  • Abnormalities of fetal development
  • Topical steroids in large amounts or for prolonged periods should not be used in pregnancy
  • Excretion in breast milk
  • Lactation should be withheld during treatment

Precautions & Warnings

  • For external use only
  • Hypersensitivity reaction
  • Systemic effects including adrenal suppression
  • Skin thinning and atrophy
  • Increased risk of dermatological superinfection or opportunistic infection
  • Caution in treating children
  • Visual disturbance may be associated with systemic and topical corticosteroid use

Overdose Effects

  • Corticosteroids may be absorbed in sufficient amounts to produce systemic effects
  • Treatment for accidental ingestion
  • Rinsing with clean water if accidentally applied to the eyes
