Description
- Broad spectrum antimycotic
- Anti-inflammatory
- Anti-pruritic
- Anti-allergic
- Composed of Econazole Nitrate and Triamcinolone Acetonide
- Effective against various pathogens such as dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds, and fungi
- Antibacterial effect on gram-positive cocci and bacilli
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: Apply sparingly to the skin lesion no more than 2 times daily
- Pediatric Use: Exercise caution due to greater susceptibility to corticosteroid-induced effects
Interaction
- Econazole: Metabolized by CYP3A4/2C9
- Triamcinolone: Interactions with salicylates, NSAIDs, antidiabetics, amphotericin B, beta-blockers, and others
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredients
- Contraindicated in specific skin conditions such as tuberculous, varicella, herpes simplex, or other viral infections
- Rosacea and rosacea-like dermatitis
Side Effects
- Transient local mild irritation, itching & redness
- Adrenal suppression on long term continuous topical steroid therapy
- Infant's napkin may act as an occlusive dressing
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Topical steroids in large amounts or for prolonged periods should not be used in pregnancy
- Negligible excretion in breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- For external use only
- Discontinue use if hypersensitivity or chemical irritation occurs
- Increased risk of systemic effects and superinfection
- Increased caution required when treating children
Overdose Effects
- Treat symptomatically
- If accidentally applied to the eyes, wash with clean water or saline and seek medical attention if symptoms persist
