Emolent 15%+6% (Cream)

Indications

• For general use as an emollient in the symptomatic relief of dry skin conditions.

Pharmacology

• Emollients with occlusive properties for topical application.
• No significant systemic absorption of active ingredients.
• Substantial penetration into the stratum corneum.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply a thin film of the ointment to the affected area of the skin.
• Apply in the direction of hair growth, as required.
• Ideally apply three or four times a day or at least twice a day.
• Up to 500g a week may be used for adults with large affected areas.
• For topical administration only.

Side Effects

• Prolonged use may cause folliculitis.
• Discontinue use if folliculitis occurs.

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Safety during pregnancy and lactation not established.
• Use during these periods not considered to constitute a hazard.

Precautions & Warnings

• Apply in the direction of hair growth to reduce folliculitis incidence.

Overdose Effects

• Low toxicity if ingested.
• Treatment should be supportive and symptomatic if ingested.
• Gastric lavage should not be attempted due to risk of inhalation or aspiration into the lungs.
