Indications
- Topical treatment of Acne vulgaris
Pharmacology
- Combination of lincosamide antibiotic Clindamycin phosphate and retinoid Tretinoin
- Clindamycin binds with the 50s ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria and prevents elongation of peptide chain
- Clindamycin inhibits the activity of Propionibacterium acne
- Tretinoin decreases the cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells and increases turnover
Dosage & Administration
- Application before sleep and in the morning
- Wash face gently with mild soap and water before application
- Application of sunscreen after gel application
Interaction
- Concomitant use of potentially irritating topical products should be approached with caution
- Concomitant use of Erythromycin decreases activity of Clindamycin
- Concomitant use with neuromuscular medicine increases activity of neuromuscular medicine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or any other component of the Gel

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Special caution while applying to a nursing mother
