Indications
- Topical treatment of Acne vulgaris
Pharmacology
- Combination of lincosamide antibiotic Clindamycin phosphate and retinoid Tretinoin
- Clindamycin binds with the 50s ribosomal subunit of bacteria
- Prevents elongation of peptide chain by interfering with the peptidyl transfer
- Tretinoin decreases cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells and increases turnover bringing comedones out
Dosage & Administration
- Apply before sleep on a clean, dry face
- Apply sunscreen in the morning after application
- Do not wash face more than 2-3 times a day
- Safety and effectiveness not established for children below 12 years
Interaction
- Caution with concomitant use of potentially irritating topical products
- Decreased activity when used with Erythromycin
- Increased activity with neuromuscular medicine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or any other component of the Gel

- Cough
- Sinusitis
- Diarrhea
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Exercise special caution if applied to a nursing mother
- Unknown excretion in human milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Do not apply to eyes, nose, ears, lips, cuts, burns, or infections
- Keep away from sunlight after application
