Indications
- Disinfects clean hands of doctors, nurses, and individuals
- Disinfects surgical instruments
- Disinfects skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures

Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol
Pharmacology
- Chlorhexidine cation binds to negatively charged bacterial cell walls
- Bactericidal effect
- Bacteriostatic effect at low concentrations
- Membrane disruption at high concentrations
Dosage & Administration
- 3 ml for disinfecting clean hands and contaminated materials
- 5 ml in a clean pot for disinfecting surgical instruments
- 3 ml with cotton for disinfecting skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures
- 3 ml with cotton for disinfecting wound/wound dressing
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and anionic agents, may cause stains on fabrics previously in contact with hypochlorite bleaches
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any of its compositions
