Indications

Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol BP
Pharmacology
- Chlorhexidine cation binds to negatively charged bacterial cell walls
- Bactericidal effect at high concentrations
Dosage & Administration
- 3 ml for disinfecting clean hands and contaminated materials
- 5 ml for disinfecting surgical instruments
- 3 ml for disinfecting skin prior to surgery
- 3 ml for disinfecting wounds/wound dressings
Interaction
- Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents
- Hypochlorite bleaches may cause brown stains
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition
