Indications
Topical antiseptic as first aid to help prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns
Pharmacology
Gentian violet (GV) dissociates into positive and negative ions in aqueous solutions, penetrating bacterial and fungal cells, inhibiting cell growth, and inducing respiratory inhibition. It exhibits anti-mitochondrial activity and dissipates the bacterial membrane potential.
Dosage & Administration
Clean affected area and apply a small amount 1 to 3 times daily, may be covered with a sterile bandage

Contraindications
Do not apply to an ulcerative lesion as this may cause tattooing of the skin
Side Effects
Redness, irritation, swelling, or pain persisting or increasing, or if infection occurs

Precautions & Warnings
Stop use if the condition persists or gets worse, do not use longer than 1 week
