Indications
- Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis
- Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Pharmacology
- Long-acting
- Non-sedative antagonist of histamine H1-receptors
- Antagonizes platelet activating factor (PAF)
- Inhibits degranulation of mast cells
- Inhibits release of cytokines
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended adult dose: 10 mg once a day
- Can be taken with or without food
- Dosing for children based on weight
Interaction
- Increased systemic exposure with ketoconazole or erythromycin
- Caution with statins, CNS depressants, or alcohol
- Avoid concomitant use with grapefruit or grapefruit juice
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Rupatadine or excipients
Side Effects
- Common: Asthenia, dizziness, drowsiness
- Uncommon: Appetite increased, arthralgia, back pain, diarrhea, nasal dryness
- Rare: Palpitations, tachycardia
