Indications

  • Symptomatic treatment of Seasonal & Perennial Allergic Rhinitis
  • Symptomatic treatment of Urticaria

Pharmacology

  • Long-acting non-sedative antagonist of histamine H1-receptors
  • Antagonist of platelet activating factor (PAF)
  • Inhibition of degranulation of mast cells
  • Inhibition of release of cytokines

Dosage & Administration

  • 10 mg once a day for adults and adolescents over 12 years
  • 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) for children weighing 25 kg or more
  • 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 ml) for children weighing 10-25 kg

Interaction

  • Increased systemic exposure with ketoconazole or erythromycin
  • Caution with statins, CNS depressants, and alcohol
  • Avoid concomitant use with grapefruit and grapefruit juice

  • Hypersensitivity to Rupatadine or any excipient
