Dosage & Administration
- Recommended daily dose for adults and children
- Different dosage for allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria

Indications
- Indicated for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms like sneezings, rhinorrhea, itchy, red eyes, itchy nose/palate/throat
- Indicated for chronic idiopathic urticaria
- Relief of symptoms such as wheals and pruritus
Mode of Action
- Binds to and stabilizes inactive form of H1 receptors
- Prevents the activation and downstream effects of H1 receptors
- Potent and selective affinity for H1 receptors
- No CNS effects as it does not cross the blood-brain barrier
Interaction
- No hepatic biotransformation
- Increased level when coadministered with erythromycin or ketoconazole
- No interaction with omeprazole
- Reduction in bioavailability when administered with antacids
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or its ingredients
Side Effects
- Common: headache, drowsiness, nausea
- Uncommon: fatigue
- Hypersensitivity reactions like angioedema, chest tightness, dyspnoea
- Tachycardia, palpitations, diarrhea, rash, urticaria, pruritus
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Limited data on use during pregnancy
- Not recommended for breastfeeding
