Indications
- Topical treatment of impetigo
- Treatment of folliculitis
- Treatment of furunculosis
Pharmacology
- Naturally occurring antibiotic
- Produced by fermentation using Pseudomonas fluorescens
- Active against Staphylococcus aureus
- Active against Streptococcus pyogenes
- Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis
- No in vitro cross-resistance with other classes of antimicrobial agents
Dosage & Administration
- Apply to affected area 3 times daily
- Safety and effectiveness established in age range of 2 months to 16 years

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity reactions to Mupirocin
